Welcome to Heather Emrich Digital
Updated: May 5
Ever since I can remember, I've always wanted to start my own marketing consulting business. I just never thought the catalyst would be the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like many others in the marketing industry, I have always focused on growing my clients' businesses rather than my own. The truth is, I've always shied away from posting on social media, but now it's time for me to walk the talk and put my money where my mouth is. In the coming weeks and months, I plan to share the latest marketing tips & strategies to help you grow your business online.
But first, a little bit about me:
I've always loved marketing. It's the perfect mix of business and creativity. Profitability and people. Earnings and emotions. Marketing is an art and science and that's why I'm so drawn to it. And for the past 13 years (whoa), I have worked in advertising, giving clients of all shapes and sizes actionable advice on how to build demand for their products through traditional and digital marketing.
Fast forward to November 2019, my husband was transferred to a new city for a promotion. Since the commute from my cushy marketing job was not possible for a number of reasons, I left to set off on a new adventure in a new city. At the time I had no idea what I was getting myself into and little did I know I would never look back.
Digital marketing in the post-pandemic world
I started Heather Emrich Digital in October of 2020 with the goal of helping entrepreneurs build their brands online. In a world of rolling store closures, and shuttered storefronts, it's become more important than ever for businesses to have a digital marketing strategy in place. If marketing is the lifeblood of every business, then digital marketing is the beating heart in today's world. From how a business is positioned online, to how customers find it and how those customers go through the buyer journey - digital marketing touches it all. And while digital marketing can make or break a business, it can be tricky and time-consuming for busy entrepreneurs to tackle. As we all get our vaccines and head to greener pastures, one thing for certain is that digital marketing is here to stay.
What do I mean by a digital marketing strategy?
Hint - it's more than social media. While social media is the shiny new toy in a marketer's toolbox, a strong digital marketing strategy encompasses many other areas of marketing that are often overlooked. These often-forgotten but ever-important strategies include content strategy, search engine optimization (SEO), user experience & website design, pay-per-click advertising, and email marketing, just to name a few. Over the next little while, I'll dive deeper into each of these topic areas, so you can use them to your full advantage.
Leave the digital marketing to me.
What I've noticed is that so few businesses are taking advantage of digital marketing strategies as they have limited hours in the day and a to-do list that runs a mile long. Apart from social media, strategic digital marketing often takes a backseat to other business activities due to limited time and resources. And I get it - as a business owner myself, I've neglected my website, social media, and sales funnels as I focused on the here & now. What I'd like to be is your strategic digital marketing partner. Read on if you're interested.
Now is the time to build your brand online.
With Amazon, Walmart, and other superstores increasingly at our fingertips, small businesses are struggling more than ever. I want to see more entrepreneurs succeed. I want to help them make an impact because they improve our communities and offer so much more than a big box store ever could. And I want to do it now. With COVID-19 disrupting every part of our lives, now is the time to adapt our marketing strategies so we can thrive now and in the future.
In the next little while, I plan to share great marketing content with you, to help you build a profitable business online.
